GK ConstructionFounded in 2022 by experienced carpenters Alex and Scotty, GK Construction has quickly built a reputation for quality, reliability, and expert craftsmanship. With a robust management structure and hands-on leadership, we’re equipped to deliver projects of all sizes and complexities — from heritage renovations and bespoke new builds to large-scale commercial contracts and shop fitting.
Our work reflects a commitment to precision, innovation, and integrity, with our portfolio showcasing the diversity of our work, including a standout achievement in 2024: a bespoke display featured at the Chelsea Flower Show, which proudly earned a prestigious 5-star award.
Our services are fully comprehensive, and through our sister company, Novus Floors, we also offer expert flooring solutions, covering everything from hardwood, LVT and carpets, to commercial-grade installations.
At GK Construction, we take pride in turning ambitious ideas into reality — on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
GK Construction wouldn't be who we are with out our team of professionals handling every project.
Alex gained valuable experience as a carpenter with a local building firm by following the traditional path. He started as an apprentice at 19 and quickly advanced to the role of site foreman within a couple of years.
While most of his career involved working on new developments and major renovations, he currently finds satisfaction in tackling the evolving building methods to meet changing regulations and requirements.
Growing up in London, Scotty started his career at the age of 13. He apprenticed under experienced carpenters who worked on iconic buildings in the city.
With the support of a teacher, Scotty was allowed to leave school one day a week to gain practical experience on local construction sites. He has dedicated his career to working on unique and historic buildings in the country, and he brings decades of experience to his work.
Rory began his career in the construction industry, where he worked on large commercial developments as a partition and suspended ceilings system technician for several years.
He worked on various projects all over Cornwall and Devon, including building helicopter hangars, schools, and hospitals. Seeking new challenges, he transitioned to becoming a trainee carpenter and gained valuable experience working on large residential projects in locations like Rock, Mother Ivy's Bay, and Constantine Bay. Always aiming to improve, he eventually started his own carpentry business.
In 2023, Rory crossed paths with GK and quickly proved to be a great fit. He joined GK that same year and has since become an essential part of the team in his role.
Dan began his carpentry career at the age of 21, quickly discovering a passion for building and problem-solving. Through hard work and determination, he earned the Apprentice of the Year award and secured 1st place in the regional SkillBuild competition.
Over the years, Dan perfected his craft as a skilled carpenter and advanced to the role of site manager, armed with a keen eye for the finer details overseeing the construction of bespoke luxury homes in sought-after locations such as Rock, Polzeath, and Padstow.
Still as driven as ever, Dan is focused on advancing his career and is committed to the continued growth and success of GK Construction.
